This was my first at home session and I was really nervous. Yes, this is my sister - and while she's super supportive and wouldn't have been upset if these didn't turn out great, I still wanted them to be perfect. I was worried I wouldn't be able to pull it off, that I would mess up the lighting or that they just wouldn't come out the way I had envisioned.
Well, truth is, I don't think they are half bad. I have some areas I can improve on, but overall I was so happy with how these came out. I mean, they perfectly reflect the mood. Very laid back, very reflective of Erin's personality and the setting. When I look at them there is a sense of calm that comes over me.
It looks my Sunday mornings and I think that's what people are looking for when they do in-home sessions. They are looking for someone to capture their life. Their vibe.
I'm so excited to continue grow and improve in this area of photography. This session was extremely refreshing. I love my brides, my seniors, my families - but I think it's so great to try something new and reach outside of comfort zones. I love learning new things and I can't wait to book more of these sessions in the future. I love capturing my subjects - just as they are, in they natural habitats.
